E.T.’s Medical Lab Isolator Lives Again To Protect Your Health
When Steven Spielberg’s Movie Production Set Designer Jim Bissell asked NASA, JPL, and Cal Tech scientists, “What would we do if an extra terrestrial landed on Earth?” The answer was “Strict Isolation” to protect the earth from possible contamination brought from an unknown planet on the body of the Extra Terrestrial and also to protect the E.T. from Earth’s vast array of germs, bacteria, germs and environmental contamination that could harm the E.T.
NASA provided authentic concepts of the “Isolator” and Jim Bissell produced sketches and drawings for Bob to construct as an actual working movie set. The Modular, semi transparent Isolation Medical Lab contained a Vector Air Flow System, Motors, Blowers, HEPA Filters, Lighting Glove Ports, Plastic Vision Bubbles and was fabricated with R.F. welded sheet vinyl.
E.T. and the actors all enjoyed the clean, cool comfort of the working movie set as they performed in their heavy garments. Features of ET’s Isolation Unit are designed for the Medical Applications, Home Health Care, and Emergency Disaster Protection. The modular construction provides for any size, configuration and any means of shipping. The lightweight components have survived perfectly over time and space.
